In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 4% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.

In the event of failure, a hole should be drilled in the middle of the air cleaner housing to allow potentially accumulated water to drain. Refer to Images1 and 2. Elements that have mold should be replaced by new ones. Document this failure with a picture and add to the Service Letter SIMSi Claim.
1. Mark the hole location on the air cleaner housing. Refer to Image3.
2. Drill a hole to a diameter of 5.0 +/- 0.3mm (0.20 +/- 0.01in) (C).
3. De-burr the hole on both sides of the housing. Refer to Image4.
4. Prior to assembly, clean all bore chips from the housing.
5. Replace the filter elements, if they are molded, with new ones. |
