NOTE: | This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI32854" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32854" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The final drives need to be checked on certain 558 Excavators. The existing final drive can have the incorrect oil level fill. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Note: Ensure that the correct oil level is present in the final drives. Do not deliver the machines without first checking. 1. Check the oil level in the final drive. Refer to SEBU8670, Operation and Maintenance Manual, in order to perform the final drive oil level check. - If the oil level is correct, no further action is required. - If the oil level is under-filled, report the incorrect oil level through the CPI Feedback tool in Service Information Management System (SIMSi), referencing CPI number 410374 with the following information: - Final drive serial number - Machine serial number 2. Inspect the final drive for signs of damage or wear. Take pictures of the inside view of the final drive which show the gear set. Include the pictures in the SIMSi record. 5. Check for signs of sparkling fine metal flake on the inside of the final drive. 6. Refit the cover and fill the final drive with the recommended oil to the correct level. Refer to SEBU6250, Operation and Maintenance Manual, for the correct oil specification. |
