PARTS NEEDED
Qty |
Part Number | Description |
2 | 5026141 | LINK AS-TRACK (As required) |
2 | 5026144 | TRACK GP (As required) |
In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 1% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
ACTION REQUIRED
(NOTE: When implementing this program the SystemOne link assembly should no longer be repaired. If a dry joint is detected, the link assembly must be replaced with a HD XL link assembly.) If dry joints are detected in 304-5688 SystemOne link assembly, replace with 502-6141 HD XL link assembly. Replacing link assemblies with the parts in this Service Letter may require additional undercarriage system changes. For a copy of a detailed replacement procedure, contact your dealership's Technical Communicator, who has been provided instructions by Caterpillar. 8 hours of labor is allowed for removal of the track frame idler guarding. Any additional undercarriage system changes are not covered under this program. |
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
0-48 mo |
NOTE: This is a 8.0-hour job | ||||||
8.0 hours of labor is provided for the removal of track frame idler guarding. If there has been a previous repair, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim. Component Proration - is intended to credit the customer?s account for unused life on link assemblies that are replaced rather than repaired. The following formula calculates the parts price that is claimed to Caterpillar: D/N - (Proration x 1.36 X D/N) If the customer chooses to install a MTO Track Gp instead, the proration amount allowed is based off of the 502-6141 Link Assembly D/N price, not the Track Gp D/N price. Proration is defined as the greater of the following: Prorated link wear = % link wear, as measured by CTS Prorated part hours = Part hours at time of failure divided by 6000 There will be no Caterpillar parts participation if any links are found to be cracked and: 1) Double Flange rollers were not installed to control thrust (per Finning TIR 2011-1202) 2) Or if a CTI has one thrust flange measurement less than 4mm (per REHS5396) 3. Or if % roller wear minus % link wear is greater than 40. |
