The new 492-7302 Monitor Software Group is available in the form of a flash file through the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS). Go to SIS web to make sure that the new flash file part number is still the latest part number. A newer part number may be available. SIS web only displays the latest available flash file. Refer to M0077404, Testing and Adjusting, "Module - Flash Program", for installing software. Equipment Required: - 457-6114 Cable Assembly - 14-pin compatible Communication (Comm) Adapter cable - Current version of Cat? Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool - PC with an Ethernet Port Note: The display can only be flashed with a Ethernet connection. To flash, connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port on the CA3 adapter harness. Connect the remaining end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN connection on the personal computer. |
1. Temporarily disable Product Link by switching off the battery disconnect switch and removing Product Link fuse (1) on the left side of the cab. Refer to Image1.2.1. 2. Switch the battery back on and turn the key switch to the ON position. With Product Link disabled, the "Application Error" dialog box on the display should disappear. 3. Flash the new software. Refer to M0077404, Testing and Adjusting, "Module - Flash Program". Install one end of the Ethernet cable into the 457-6114 Cable Assembly. Refer to Image1.2.2 and Image1.2.3. Install the other end of the Ethernet cable into the personal computer. Refer to Image1.2.4. 4. After successfully flashing the software, turn the key switch to the OFF position and switch the battery disconnect switch back off. 5. Install the Product Link fuse and then switch the battery disconnect back on. The machine is now ready for service. Note: If the monitor still does not operate correctly, contact your Caterpillar Dealerships Technical Communicator and submit this information to the Dealer Solution Network (DSN) via the DSN-Product Health inquiry type. Please, reference the Service Letter number in the description and making sure to reference this Service Letter number in the Service Request. |
