Procedure for Oil Leakage Inspection on the C9 Engine: 1. Move the machine to level ground. The ground must support the weight of the machine. Note: Prepare enough space for rework, refer to Image1.1.1. 2. Remove the bottom of plate from the upper frame. Refer to Image1.1.2. 3. Remove the plug from the bottom of the flywheel housing in order to check the oil leaks condition. Please take picture. A few oil drops is normal. Refer to Image1.1.3. 4. Retighten the plug. Run machine at low idle for 5 minutes, then re-set to Idle 10. 5. Fully extend the stick cylinder and hold 2 pump stall with 15 seconds, then release joystick(Stick function) to neutral position with high idle with 15 seconds. 6. ?Repeat Step 5 until machine running with 2 Hours. Note: Watch the hydraulic oil and engine oil temperature within specification, if occur high temperature phenomenon, extend machine idle time until abnormal temperature down to specification, then perform Hot Testing again. 7. Remove the plug again in order to check the condition of oil leaks. Please take picture. A few oil drops is normal, but if large oil amount (>10ml) appears, yet color looks (slightly) dark, that could be potential leakage case. 8. Further inspect potential leakage from the machine with the plug removed. Run the machine by air digging operation for one more hour. If continue oil drops are found, then identified as early oil leakage failure. Please take picture. 9. Replace the real crankshaft seal, as needed. Refer to RENR7579, Disassembly and Assembly. Note: Refer to SEPD1813, Service Magazine, "Improved Crankshaft Rear Seals are Used on Certain C9 Machine Engines", to order the improved crankshaft seal. |
