When reporting the repair, use "PI32609" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32609" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The swing bearing gear group bolts need to be checked for the proper tightening specification and re-torqued as needed on certain 312D2 and 318D2 Excavators. All of the bearing gear group bolts need to be checked. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Note: Before beginning the following Rework Procedure, please review and understand the Operation and Maintenance Manual for safety information and safe working practices before starting this Rework Procedure. All of the swing bearing gear group bolts will need to be checked. Refer to Image1 and 2. 312D2 Machines - static bolt torque needs to be checked at 230 N.m. 318D2 machines - static bolt torque needs to be checked at 450 N.m. Note: The swing bearing gear group bolts were torqued using torque turn process so please follow the above static torque settings during inspection. If an incorrect torque is found during the inspection, follow the tightening specification for the 312D2 UENR0196, or 318D2 UENR0198, Disassembly and Assembly manual. If any of the bolts are found loose, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swing gear and Bearing - Remove and Install", for the torque process. |
