PROBLEM
The existing pipe assembly in the cooling lines group may need to be replaced on certain 329D Excavators. The existing pipe assembly may have a crack by stress concentration on the weld toe end of the bracket. It may cause the engine to power down due to intake air leaks from the crack. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the existing welded pipe assembly with a U-bolt mounting type, when a weld crack is found. 1. Replace existing 459-3591 Pipe Assembly (A) with new 488-5675 Pipe Assembly (B). Refer to Image1 for the location of pipe assembly (A). 2. Install two new 132-2155 U-bolts (C) with new 467-7554 Plate (D) and 467-7555 Plate (E) using the following hardware: four 7X-7729 Washers and four 8T-4136 Bolts (F), four 5P-1076 Washers (G), four 8T-4244 Nuts (inside) (H), and four 8T-4244 Nuts (outside) (J). Refer to Image2 and Detail A in Image3. 3. Tighten the four 8T-4244 Nuts (inside) (H) to a specified torque of 1 +/- 0.2 N.m. 3. Tighten the four 8T-4244 Nuts (outside) (J) to a specified torque of 50 +/- 10 N.m. |
