New Tool Box Latch Provides Easier Use And Increased Reliability {7259}

Description of Change: A new latch assembly is now available for the 138-7096 Toolbox. The new latch assembly features a "T-Bar" handle and lock bars for the user's padlock. These features provide for easier operator use and increased reliability.

Adaptable To: The new 129-4741 T-Bar Latch Assembly is adaptable to the listed machines that have the 126-7168 Lock. See Illustration 1.

Replacement of the 126-7168 Lock with the new 129-4741 T-Bar Latch Assembly requires modification of the 139-0515 Cover as described in the installation procedure.

The 129-4741 T-Bar Latch Assembly Installation Procedure

1. Remove the old 126-7168 Lock.

NOTE: Retain the 139-0161 Plate for reuse with the new "T-Bar" latch.

2. Redrill the existing hole to increase the diameter from 22 mm to 23 mm to accept the new 129-4741 T-Bar Latch Assembly.

3. Drill two 7.5 mm holes as shown in Illustration 2. Use the centerline of the existing hole as a reference point for locating the new holes. See Illustration 2.

4. Install the 129-4741 T-Bar Latch Assembly to the toolbox cover using the 6V-7743 Locknuts (2).

5. Assemble the 139-0161 Plate (4) to the new latch assembly using the 8T-4133 Nuts (3).

NOTE: Adjust plate (4) on the shaft of the latch assembly to achieve the desired fit of the toolbox cover.
