If the engine is filled with oil too fast, oil may saturate the breather on the engines in the above machines. If the breather becomes saturated with oil, oil will blow out of the breather hose until the breather frees itself of the oil. Caterpillar recommends adding oil at a rate not exceeding 2 L/m (0.5 gpm). This will help prevent the breather from becoming saturated with oil.
