The improved Quick Coupler provides 12 degrees more rotation for better vertical wall digging and easier changeout of tools. The increase in bucket rotation allows digging a deeper vertical wall while still being able to close the bucket enough to truckload the material. The increased bucket rotation eliminates the need to switch bucket pin locations to achieve deeper vertical wall digging.
The new 161-3240 Quick Coupler replaces the former 132-3780 Quick Coupler for the above machines. The former 132-3780 Quick Coupler has been cancelled, but continues to be serviced.
Instructions necessary for field installation and for maintaining the new Quick Coupler are provided in the Special Instruction, REHS0261, "Installation and Maintenance of the 161-3240 Quick Coupler". This Special Instruction is included with every 161-3240 Quick Coupler ordered and is available also through the normal literature distribution system.
The new 161-3240 Quick Coupler can be ordered by completing a miscellaneous shipping order to the factory in Clayton, NC. The components of the new 161-3240 Quick Coupler are identified in Chart 1.
