New Bracket Assembly Improves Service Life Of Governor Control {1908}

Usage:

487 (6KW),
495 (5TZ),
687 (4FZ),
695 (8MW) Tree Harvesters;
550 (7ZN),
570 (4XR),
580 (7CN) Wheel Harvesters

Description of Change: A new bracket assembly increases the service life of the governor control. The new bracket assembly rotates the governor control so the wiring harness points downward. This protects against water or condensation from entering through the wire harness and damaging the motor.

Adaptable To: The new 158-7190 Bracket Assembly is effective with 550 (7ZN1-Up), 570 (4XR1-Up), and 580 (7CN1-Up) Wheel Harvesters. This new bracket assembly is adaptable to first production for the Tree Harvesters listed by following the installation procedure.

Installation Procedure

1. Disconnect wire harness (1).

2. Remove nut and washer (3).

3. Remove existing rod (2) from the ball joints.

4. Remove three bolts and washers (5). Remove motor (4).

5. Remove two bolts and washers (7) from bracket assembly (6). Remove bracket assembly (6).

6. Install the motor onto the new 158-7190 Bracket Assembly using only one bolt and washer. Install the bottom bolt and washer only, but do not tighten the bolt. This bolt is very difficult to install if you install the 158-7190 Bracket Assembly first.

7. Install the 158-7190 Bracket Assembly (8) with two existing bolts and washers (9).

8. Install two bolts and washers to the top of the motor. Tighten the bottom bolt at this time.

9. Install one 158-7199 Rod Assembly (10) to the ball joints. The former rod assembly is too short for this configuration.

10. Install the ball joint onto the motor with existing nut and washer (11).

11. Connect the harness assemblies.
