Description of Change: These off-highway tractors and trucks are equipped with the Vital Information Management System (VIMS) and the Advanced Diesel Engine Management I (ADEM I). These systems include a feature which provides for engine shutdown during certain conditions. The VIMS can request the engine to shut down due to low engine oil pressure, high engine coolant temperature, low engine coolant level, or low engine oil level. Although the engine acknowledges the shutdown request, the engine may not actually shut down when required. This is a random problem, and the systems work normally most of the time. Engine damage may occur if the Shutdown System does not function properly. The new engine personality modules will help ensure that the Shutdown System functions correctly.

Adaptable To: The chart identifies the new and former personality module part numbers. The chart also identifies the machines and engine serial number that can use the new personality modules.
