Introduction

This story includes the following test:

  • Travel Test

Travel Test

Test Preparation

  1. Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.

  2. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the operator sight.

  3. Place the machine in the PARK position.

  4. Engage the parking brake.

Test Procedure

  1. Put the machine in travel mode.

Note: An audible alarm should sound when put into travel mode.

  2. With all travel interlocks released, move the machine in forward and reverse directions.

  3. Slowly engage the joysticks.

Note: The machine should move slowly in proportion to the joystick output.

Note: The machine should travel straight.

  4. Fully stroke the joysticks in both directions.

Note: A slight pull to the left (non-cab) side may be noticed as the machine jumps. Travel should be straight thereafter.

  5. Carefully let off the joystick to observe the responsiveness of the pump controls. The pumps should spike naturally, but also drain down smoothly and responsively.
