This story includes the following test:
- Front Leveling Jack speed test
- Rear Leveling Jack speed test
The Leveling Jack speed test is used to make sure the jacks in the front and rear are moving together evenly.
Front (Non-Drill End) Leveling Jack Test
Note: All tests and adjustments must be made while the hydraulic oil is at normal operating temperature.
- Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location away from operating machines and away from personnel.
- Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or within the operator sight.
- Place the machine in the PARK position.
- Ensure that there is no load on the FRONT (non-drill end) leveling jacks are under no load.
- Place the machine engine at high idle.
- Using the right thumb roller on the left joystick, lower and raise theFRONT leveling jacks six times while observing speed.
Note: The thumb roller must be fully stroked to ensure full flow to both jacks.
Note: Personnel observing jack movement should be positioned so that they have a clear line of sight to both jacks.
- Lower the engine speed to idle and shut down the Machine.
- If a noticeable speed difference is observed, adjust the corresponding jack and retest. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, Counterbalance Valve - Test and Adjust in this manual.
Rear (Drill-End) Leveling Jack Test
Note: All tests and adjustments must be made while the hydraulic oil is at normal operating temperature.
- Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location away from operating machines and away from personnel.
- Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or within the operator sight.
- Place the machine in the NEUTRAL position.
- Ensure that there is no load on the REAR (drill end) leveling jacks are under no load.
- Place the machine engine at high idle.
- Using both thumb rollers on the left joystick , lower and raise the REAR leveling jacks six times while observing speed.
Note: The thumb rollers must be fully stroked to ensure full flow to both individual jacks.
