Usage:
120H (5FM2263-2264, 5FM2266-2274, 5FM2276-2286, 5FM2288-2290, 5FM2292, 5FM2294, 5FM2296, 5FM2302, 6YN235-239, 9YR612-613);
135H (8WN711);
140H (5HM1942-1943, 9TN1214-1217, 3AS713-716);
160H (2FM610-611) MOTOR GRADERS
Problem:
The 9T-7984 Hydraulic Tank Gp on certain 12H, 120H, 135H, 140H and 160H Motor Graders may have been assembled with the 6V-8801 Nuts in place of the 2K-4973 Locknuts. Vibration may cause the 6V-8801 Nuts to come loose. As a result, the hydraulic oil tank may leak.
Solution:
Visually inspect all 84 nuts on the hydraulic oil tank and identify any 6V-8801 Nut that may have been used in error. Reference Illustration 1 and Illustration 2 for examples of 6V-8801 Nuts and 2K-4973 Locknuts for the inspection of the tank. NOTE:
Replace all 6V-8801 Nuts with 2K-4973 Locknuts. The 2K-4973 Locknuts must be tightened to a torque of 61 ± 9.5 N·m (45 ± 7 lb/ft). Nut runners should be used to tighten all bolts and nuts.
NOTE: Although the access to some of the nuts may be difficult, it is not necessary to remove the hydraulic oil tank in order to replace the nuts.
