Powertrain Oil Cooler Inlet Water Hose May Fail
Usage:

Problem:
Reports have been received of the power train oil cooler inlet water hose tearing or splitting on machines with the 5XD HEUI engine.
Solution:
The 210-9479 Hose (1) should be used in place of the 161-0018 Hose or the 4N-8398 Hose to improve service life. The clamps (2) that retain the hose should be placed at the ends of the new 210-9479 Hose to increase the stretch length between clamps to reduce hose stress during engine motion. The hose is best serviced by removing the 7N-6654 Elbow (3). A new 4N-2199 Gasket and 210-9479 Hose will be needed to complete the repair. Before or After Failure Service Letter PS40699 was effective on August 26, 2001. Please complete this program as soon as possible.
