Problem:
During normal idler rebuild, the new idler with its seals may not fit into the major bogie.

Solution:
Inspect the clearance between the idler collar and the bogie. If an interference problem exists, measure the distance between the bogie arms as shown in Illustration 1. The distance should measure 416 +3/-0 mm (16.4 +.12/-0 inches). If interference exists, grind the inside face a maximum depth of 3 mm (0.12 inch) on the inside face of each bogie arm. The distance from the edge of the counterbore to the ground surface is 15 ± 2 mm (.59 ± .08 inches). The minimum acceptable clearance between the collar and the bogie arm is 0.5 mm (.02 inch).
