------ WARNING! ------

A recoil spring in compression can cause injury if it is released suddenly. To prevent injury always install and use the tooling correctly. Also be sure the tooling and the threads in the track roller frame are not damaged. Install the 6V2052 Adapters (1) in the roller frame so the shoulder on the adapter is against the roller frame. After the shoulder of the 6V2052 Adapter comes in contact with the roller frame, the adapter can be tightened a maximum of 1/8 turn or loosened a maximum of 3/8 turn to put the adapter in the correct position so the remainder of tooling (A) can be installed. When the remainder of tooling (A) is installed, do not let the weight of the tooling or hoist put a bending load on the 6V2052 Adapters. Keep tooling (A) level.

--------WARNING!------

1. Be sure the threads in the track roller frame for adapters (1) are not damaged. Install the 6V2052 Adapters (1) in the roller frame.

2. Install the remainder of tooling (A) as shown. Install two 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolts (2) in the pins that hold the track adjuster and recoil spring in place. Use tooling (A) to push track adjuster (3) in just far enough to remove the two pins.

3. After the pins are removed slowly, release the pressure in tooling (A) until all the tension in the recoil spring is released. Remove tooling (A).

4. Remove track adjuster (3) and recoil spring (4) from the track roller frame. Weight of the recoil spring is 57 kg (126 lb.).

Install Track Adjusters And Recoil Spring (953)

1. Put recoil spring (1) in position in the track roller frame. Weight is 57 kg (126 lb.).

2. Install track adjuster (2) in the recoil spring.

4. Use tooling (A) to put the recoil spring in compression so pins (4) can be installed. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on pins (4), and install the pins in the track roller frame.

5. Slowly release the pressure in tooling (A) until pins (4) hold the recoil spring in compression. Remove tooling (A). Remove the eyebolts from pins (4).
