Usage:
NOTE: The removal, disassembly, assembly and installation of each component of the steering controls is shown as a unit. The cab was lifted (raised) during the removal and installation of the lower portion of the steering controls for better photo illustration only.
1. Brackets (1) and (3) are the same so the disassembly of only one will be shown. Remove spring (5). Disconnect links (2) and (4) from the levers.
2. Remove the bolts that hold bracket (3) to the bottom of the cab, and remove bracket (3).
3. Remove links (2) and (4) from the lever.
4. Use tool (B) to remove snap ring (6). Remove washer (7) and lever (8) from the bracket.
5. Use tooling (A) and a press to remove the bearing from lever (8).
6. Remove washer (9) and the snap ring from the bracket.
7. Install snap ring (10) and washer (9) on the bracket.

When the bearing is installed in lever (8), push on the end of the bearing that has identification. |
8. Use tooling (A) and a press to install the bearing in lever (8).
9. Install lever (8) on bracket (3).
10. Install washer (7) on the bracket, and use tool (B) to install snap ring (6) on the bracket.
11. Install links (2) and (4) on lever (8) as shown.
12. Put bracket (3) in position on the bottom of the cab, and install the bolts that hold it in place. Do not connect link (4) at this time.
13. Disconnect link (11) from the lever on bracket (12).
14. Remove the bolts that hold bracket (12) to the bottom of the cab, and remove bracket (12).
15. Disconnect rods (13) from the levers.
16. Remove bolt (18) and shaft (16) from the bracket. Remove spacer (14), washers (15) and levers (17) from the bracket.
17. Use tooling (A) and a press to remove bearings (19) from levers (17).

18. Use tooling (A) and a press to install the bearings in levers (17).
19. Put washers (15), spacer (14) and levers (17) in position as shown on bracket (12), and install shaft (18) to hold them in place. Install the bolt that holds shaft (18) in place.
20. Install rods (13) on the levers as shown.
21. Put bracket (12) in position on the bottom of the cab, and install the bolts that hold it in place. Connect links (2) and (11) to the levers to the bracket.
22. The disassembly of both steer pedal assemblies (19) is the same so only the right steer pedal assembly will be shown. Remove the floormat from the cab. Remove four bolts (20) and the right steer pedal assembly.
23. Loosen bolt (23) and slide lever (25) to the side. Remove the key from the shaft.
24. Put a mark on pedal (24) in relation to its location on support (26). Support (26) has adjustment screws so pedal (24) must be installed in the same position on support (26).
25. Remove bolt (21) and slide shaft (22) out of pedal (24), support (26) and lever (25).
NOTE: Do not move adjustment screws (28). Later model steering controls do not have adjustment screws. See Testing And Adjusting for correct adjustment procedures.
26. Use tooling (A) to remove bearings (27) from the support.

27. Use tooling (A) to install the bearings in support (26).
28. Put pedal (24) in its original position on support (26). Install shaft (22) through pedal (24), support (26) and lever (25) as shown. Install the bolt that holds shaft (22) to pedal (24), but do not tighten.
29. Install key (29) in the shaft. Slide lever (25) into position over the key, and tighten bolt (23).
30. Put the steer pedal assembly in position in the cab, and install the four bolts that hold it in place. Install the floormat in the cab.
31. Connect link (4) and spring (5) to lever (25).
32. While the bolt that holds the shaft in the pedal is loosened, bolt (21), adjust the angle of the right steer pedal so it is the same as the left steer pedal, and tighten bolt (21).
