Transmission Oil Cooler

Usage:

Remove Transmission Oil Cooler

START BY:

a. remove muffler

1. Fasten straps and a hoist to hood (1). Remove the bolts that hold the hood in place, and remove the hood. Weight of the 943 hood is 25 kg (55 lb.). Weight of the 953 hood is 30 kg (66 lb.).

2. Remove the grille from the radiator guard.

3. Remove lights (2) and guards (3) from the radiator guard.

4. Install tooling (A) on guard (4) as shown, and fasten a hoist. Remove bolts (5) from the guard.

5. Remove bolts (6) from both sides of the guard. Remove the guard. Weight is approximately 29 kg (65 lb.).

6. Remove bolts (7) that hold the hydraulic oil cooler in place, and move the hydraulic oil cooler away from the transmission oil cooler (953 only).

7. Remove guard (8) below the oil cooler and radiator.

NOTE: The transmission oil cooler will have very little oil in it if the engine has been stopped for a short time and the cap on the transmission fill tube is removed.

8. Disconnect oil line (10) from the bottom of the transmission oil cooler.

9. Remove two bolts (9) and the spacers that hold the transmission oil cooler to the radiator guard.

10. Remove eyebolt (11) from the storage hole, and install it in the hole in the top of the transmission oil cooler as shown. Fasten a hoist to the eyebolt.

------ WARNING! ------

Eyebolt (11) can break if a side load is put on it. The transmission oil cooler can fall and cause injury if the oil cooler is lifted with eyebolt (11) in the storage hole. Always move eyebolt (11) to the hole in the top of the oil cooler before the oil cooler is lifted with the eybolt.

11. Remove bolts (12) and (13).

12. Disconnect oil line (14) from the top of the oil cooler.

13. Remove eight bolts (16) and plate (17) from the side of the oil cooler.

14. Remove transmission oil cooler (15). Weight is approximately 39 kg (85 lb.).

Install Transmission Oil Cooler

1. Install the 3/8"-16 NC forged eyebolt in the top of transmission oil cooler (1), and fasten a hoist. Put the transmission oil cooler in position in the radiator guard. Weight is approximately 39 kg (85 lb.).

2. Install bolts (4) and (5) that hold the oil cooler to the channel and clamp.

3. Remove the hoist, and move eyebolt (2) to storage hole (3).

4. Install two spacers and bolts (6) in the bottom of the oil cooler.

5. Connect oil line (7) to the bottom of the oil cooler.

6. Install guard (8) below the oil cooler and radiator.

7. Put plate (9) and the wire for the light in position on the side of the oil cooler, and install the eight bolts that hold the plate and wire in place.

8. Connect oil line (10) to the top of the oil cooler.

9. Move hydraulic oil cooler (11) back into position, and install the bolts that hold it in place (953 only).

10. Install tooling (A) on guard (12), and fasten a hoist as shown. Put the guard in position, and install the bolts in holes (13). Weight is approximately 29 kg (65 lb.).

11. Install bolts (14) on both sides of guard (12). Remove the hoist and tooling (A) from the guard.

12. Install both guards (15) for the lights.

13. Connect the wires to lights (16), and install the lights in the guards.

14. Install the grille in the radiator guard.

15. Fasten straps and a hoist to the hood. Put the hood in position on the machine, and install the bolts that hold it in place. Weight of the 943 hood is 25 kg (55 lb.). Weight of the 953 hood is 30 kg (66 lb.).

END BY:

a. install muffler
