Problem:

To increase service life, any 7E6248 Jacket Water Heater (Group) that is utilized in 240 DCV installations/applications should be rewired. This issue does not impact thermostat life if the thermostat is utilized in a 480 DCV application.

Solution:

Caterpillar recommends changing the 7E6248 Jacket Water Heater (Group) wiring in accordance with Illustration 1. While changing the wiring, inspect the 127-6260 Thermostat Assembly. If degradation has occurred in the 127-6260 Thermostat Assembly, replace the 127-6260 Thermostat Assembly.
