SUBJECT: Improving 192-4262 Brake Valve and Mounting Group Life in the 797 Off-Highway Truck

PROBLEM:

The 165-9118 Relief Valve that is used in the 192-4262 Brake Valve and Mounting Group can cause erosion of the valve group at high part hours.

SOLUTION:

Until a permanent solution is announced to improve service life, Caterpillar Electronics Customer Service recommends that the 165-9118 Relief Valve be replaced every 2000 hours. For further information, call Caterpillar Electronics Customer Service at (309) 578-6529.
