Incorrect Assembly Position Of Fan-Blower May Cuase Coolant To Overheat Caterpillar

Incorrect Assembly Position Of Fan-Blower May Cuase Coolant To Overheat

Usage:

SOIL COMPACTORSCS-431C (3WZ1-201),
CS-433C (5BZ1-208),
CP-433C (4JZ1-202) SOIL COMPACTORS

Problem:

Incorrect assembly position of the 102-0414 Fan-Blower on certain CS431C, CS433C, and CP433C Soil Compactors may cause the coolant to overheat.

Solution:

When diagnosing a coolant overheat symptom, check the assembly position of the 102-0414 Fan-Blower. The correct assembly position of the Fan-Blower allows the part number "102-0414" and the word "FRONT" to remain visible on the external face of the fan hub after the Fan-Blower is assembled on the Engine Ar. Refer to the following illustrations.

Illustrations 1.

Illustrations 2.

Illustration 1 shows the direction of air flow (1). Also, View A shows the orientation of the external face of fan hub (2).

Illustration 3.

Illustration 3 shows the correct position of Fan-Blower (3).

If the Fan-Blower position is incorrect, remove the Fan-Blower and re-install according to the illustrations that are shown above. Also, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR6241-09, Fan - Remove and Install, February 1, 2002.
