Problem:
The top steel roof panel is welded into position using a skip weld process in order to minimize distortion. On some cabs the joint between the skip welds may have been inadequately sealed at the supplier.
Solution:
Remove the twelve 8T-4137 Bolts and the twelve 8T-4226 Washers that secure the 180-5100 Roof to the cab panel. Disconnect the lamp group harness connections and any additional auxiliary wiring connections.
Remove the non-metallic roof to gain access to the welded in steel roof panel. Inspect the roof panel where it joins the cab structure. Pay special attention to the areas between the skip welds.
NOTE: You may need to remove the internal roof liner to find the point of moisture entry.
Apply a uniform bead of 4C-9613 Sealant around the full circumference of the joint interface.
