PROBLEM
New software files need to be installed on certain 797F Off-Highway Trucks. These software files improve high pressure fuel pump diagnostics, reduces fuel consumption by use of the hibernate idle or reduced low idle speed function, reduces engine overspeed during transmission shifts, enhances the ARC strategy, and enables a user-configurable body dump angle limit. |

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 30% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
ACTION REQUIRED
1. Download a Product Status Report (PSR) via ET in both PDF and XML format before flashing software. Include them as an attachment with the SIMS entry. 2. Compare installed software with latest available software. 3. Download and install all software that is not already the latest available. 4. Download a Product Status Report (PSR) via ET in both PDF and XML format after flashing the new software. Include them as an attachment with the SIMS entry. Note: Transmission calibration IS required if updating from 562-3684. If upgrading from 491-6722 or newer flash file, calibration is not required. Note: Always use the latest software available. Sometimes the flash file part numbers are updated before the program terminates. Note: Only one of the engine software files will be applicable for each truck. Use the correct file for your application and local emissions regulations. Note: The 574-0020 Transmission File may not be associated with the machine serial number upon the initial release of the letter. These files can be found by using the part number search instead of the machine serial number search. Note: If the machine is switching from a test engine file to a production file, an engine password will be required. Please ensure the engine team is available to provide the password prior to beginning the job. |
