--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change:
This article replaces Service Magazine; February 5, 1996; Page 8 " New Duo-Cone Seal Retainer And Backing Plate Reduces Oil Leaks In The Service And Parking Brake Group".
New Duo-Cone seal retainers are being used in the rear wheel groups for the 775D Quarry Trucks, 773D and 777C Trucks. New duo-cone seal retainers are being used in the rear service and parking brake groups for the 775B Quarry Trucks, 772B and 776C Tractors, 773B and 777C Trucks. In addition to new seal retainers in the rear service and parking brake groups for the 775B Quarry Trucks, 772B and 776C Tractors, 773B, and 777C Trucks, a new backing plate is now being used.
New duo-cone seal retainers are being used in the front wheel groups and the rear wheel groups for the 784B Tractor, 785B, 789B and 793B Trucks. New duo-cone seal retainers are also being used in the front service and parking brake groups and the rear service and parking brake groups for the 784B Tractor, 785B and 789B Trucks. In addition to the new seal retainers in the front service and parking brake groups for the 784B Tractor, 785B and 789B Trucks, a new backing plate is now being used. The new outer seal retainers for the 793B Truck wheels are part of the wheel castings.
The new seal retainers will increase the face load on the rubber toric sealing rings of the duo-cone seals. The increased face load will help prevent oil leaks.
Adaptable To: The change is adaptable to all earlier machines. The following chart lists the models with corresponding serial numbers and part numbers.
NOTE: The 130-5406 or 130-5407 Seal Retainers MUST be used with the 130-7910 Plate to avoid interference and damage to the duo-cone seal.
