The machines listed above have a torque limiter control mounted on top of the hydraulic pump. The purpose of the torque limiter control is to limit flow under conditions that may cause the engine to stop. There is typically no adjustment required to this valve. If an adjustment is necessary, the following adjustment procedure can be used. This method of adjustment provides optimum use of the engine power.
Adjustment Procedure:
1. Set engine speed at 950 rpm. Make sure that the hydraulic oil temperature is a minimum of 50°C (122°F)
2. Engage the boom lock. Operate the "BOOM DOWN" control lever. If the torque limiter is properly adjusted, the engine speed will slow to approximately 750 rpm.
3. If the engine speed does not slow to 750 rpm, adjust the set screw on the front of the torque controller in the clockwise direction.
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the engine speed slows to approximately 750 rpm when the "BOOM DOWN" control lever is operated.
