Description of Change: Smaller diameter O-ring seals replace larger diameter O-ring seals used on cylinder heads for angle, lift, tilt, stick, and steering cylinder groups.
The smaller diameter O-ring seal assures a tight fit in the seal groove. The tight fit prevents the O-ring seal from protruding above the seal groove and prevents damage to the O-ring seal when the cylinder head is installed.
NOTE: For some threaded gland cylinder groups, the backup ring for the new O-ring seal has changed.
Adaptable To: The smaller diameter O-ring seal is effective with the cylinder groups listed in Chart 1.
The smaller diameter O-ring seal is adaptable to cylinder groups listed in Chart 2.
NOTE: An engineering change (Eng. Chg.) number indicates effectivity of this improvement or adaptability to previous cylinder groups. The cylinder group part number, (Eng. Chg.) number, date of manufacture, and serial number are found on the cylinder assembly near the rod end port.
NOTE: Refer to the footnotes in both charts for correct backup ring for new O-ring seal.
Typical threaded gland cylinder: (1) O-ring seal. (2) Backup ring.
