New Joystick Cover Provides Additional Switch Protection {5705}

Usage:

RT50 (4XG),
RT50SA (8DJ),
RT60 (5DG),
RTC60 (5PF),
RT80 and RT100 (1XG) Telescopic Material Handlers

A new one-piece molded rubber cover for installation over the head of the 6R-9251 Joystick Control Lever is available. This cover protects switches located in the joystick. Vehicles without cabs, high dust or moisture areas, and operators whose hands or gloves deposit contaminants on the front push-buttons of the joystick cause the need for this cover.

The new 8I-5590 Cover is adaptable to all machines listed above. Early production RT80 and RT100 Telescopic Material Handlers without push-buttons can also use this cover.

Installation Procedure

1. Clean the head potentiometers.

2. Pull the 8I-5590 Cover over the joystick control lever.

3. Maneuver the cover to allow normal button activation or normal operation of the lever.

4. If potentiometers were adjusted during the cleaning process, check logic for calibration.

5. Make calibration adjustments as needed.
