New Axle Sustains Higher Dynamic Loads{3282}

Usage:

Challenger 65C (2ZJ500-UP),
Challenger 70C (2YL),
Challenger 75C (4KK500-UP),
Challenger 85C (9TK) Tractors

Description of Change: A new box section axle is available to withstand higher dynamic loads than the former axle. Machines equipped with front counterweights develop high dynamic loads on the front axle while traveling over ground irregularities. The higher speeds associated with scraper applications can accentuate the higher dynamic loads. Counterweight in excess of that needed to balance the machine around its major bogie pivot shaft will also put extra load on the front axle.

The new box section axle is substantially stronger than the former axle in the vertical bending plane. The axle has approximately the same bending strength in the horizontal bending plane. Different aligning shims are not needed when the axle is installed. No change in tensioning shims is required.

Adaptable To: The 123-8505 Axle cancels and replaces the former 100-4549 Axle. The 123-8505 Axle is effective with the Challenger 65C (2ZJ1811), Challenger 70C (2YL1305), Challenger 75C (4KK2072), and Challenger 85C (9TK1597) Agricultural Tractors. The 123-8505 Axle is adaptable to Challenger 65C (2ZJ500-UP), Challenger 70C (2YL1-UP), Challenger 75C (4KK500-UP), Challenger 85C (9TK1-UP) Agricultural Tractors.
