Usage:
RT80, RT100 (1GJ1-Up) Telescopic Material Handlers
The carriage rotate pivot pin is welded to the 83-8649 Carrier part of the 83-8669 Fork Rotate Carriage Group which attaches to the machine quick coupler. The pivot pin was not formerly serviced but is now available as a serviced part, enabling rework of the 83-8649 Carrier if the pin wears out.
Procedure:
NOTE: Weld must be AWS class E7018 or E7028.
NOTE: Refer to form SENB8476, Disassembly & Assembly, RT80 & RT100 Telescopic Material Handler Vehicle Systems, for information on disassembly and assembly of the carriage rotate group.
1. Remove the 83-8669 Carriage Rotate Group from the machine.
2. Remove the carriage from the carrier.

3. Cut out the 6.0 mm (.24 in) fillet welds securing the carriage pivot pin to the carrier, using a carbon arc torch or similar equipment, and remove the pivot pin (see Illustration 1).
4. Clean the pin bore and faces of the carrier as required by grinding, and install a 81-6192 Pin as shown.

5. Ensure that dimension A (see Illustration 2) is maintained at 8-9 mm (.31-.35 in) and that the pin is perfectly square with the carrier face. Tack the pin in position with two 12 mm (.47 in) welds on the rear of the carrier, 180° apart.
6. Apply two 12 mm (.47 in) tack welds to the front of the carrier, 180° apart.
7. Check that the pin is still square to the carrier face and rectify if necessary. Apply a continuous 6 mm (.24 in) weld fillet between the pin and the rear carrier.
8. Apply a continuous 6 mm (.24 in) weld fillet between the pin and the front of the carrier. Clean and paint as required.
9. Assemble the attachment carriage to the carrier. Replace the 98-5843 Bearing Pad and 81-6210 Thrust Washers if required.
