Description of Change: New bolts with "lock-patch" on the threads are used to fasten the idler gear stub shaft to the cylinder block. The new bolts will provide better retention.
Location of new 3G-2292 Bolts (1) used to fasten idler gear stub shaft (2) to the cylinder block. Fuel Injection Pump and Timing Advance Drive Gear (A). Camshaft Drive Gear (B). Water Pump Drive Gear (C). Idler Gear (D). Crankshaft Gear (E). Oil Pump Idler Gear (F). Oil Pump Drive Gear (G).
Adaptable To: The new 3G-2292 Bolts are direct replacements for the 0L1351 Bolts in the front timing gears groups. The new bolts are effective with 3408 (48W38264) and 3412 (73W16121) Machine Engines. Five new 3G-2292 Bolts are required for each front timing gear group. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 ± 7 N·m (41 ± 5 lb ft).
