Usage:
All Caterpillar Machines With Engines Converted To Long Life Coolant/Antifreeze
Caterpillar Long Life Coolant/Antifreeze should not be mixed with conventional antifreeze/coolant. The anti-corrosion package in the Long Life Coolant/Antifreeze is different than the anti-corrosion package in Caterpillar Diesel Engine Antifreeze/Coolant and other conventional antifreeze/coolants. Long Life Coolant/Antifreeze contains no silicates, phosphates, borates, or molybdates. Because of this difference, mixing Long Life Coolant/Antifreeze with conventional antifreeze/coolants in NOT recommended. If accidental mixing does occur, the Long Life Coolant/Antifreeze will still perform, but the long life benefits will be reduced.
To prevent accidental mixing of conventional antifreeze with Long Life Coolant/Antifreeze, the Caterpillar Dealer is responsible for identification that will alert customers or mechanics that the engine's cooling system has been converted to Caterpillar Long Life Coolant/Antifreeze. This identification should be placed in a location where it will be easily seen and not overlooked. On or near the radiator top tank, radiator fill neck, or radiator cap would be good locations for this identification.
