Brake Release Pump For Towing Is Available{4354}

Usage:

CB-634 (5CL122-Up) Vibratory Compactors

Reference: Operation & Maintenance Manual, KEBU6752, for CB-634 Vibratory Compactor, Page 48, Operation Section, Towing information.

Description of Change: A brake release pump is now available for CB-634 Vibratory Compactors. The new brake release pump contains a needle valve and a hand pump that are used to hydraulically release the brakes when the machine must be towed.

Adaptable To: The new 119-5762 Brake Pump Group is effective with CB-634B (5CL122-Up). The new pump is adaptable to first production when installed according to the procedure that follows. The chart lists all of the parts needed to install the new pump.

Procedure To Install Brake Release Pump

1. Drain oil from the hydraulic tank. Use a suitable container or procedure to prevent contamination to the environment.

Normal Operation

During normal machine operation, needle valve (A) must be in the fully open (counterclockwise) position.

Towing

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death could result when towing a disabled machine incorrectly. Block the machine to prevent movement before releasing the brakes. The machine can roll free if it is not blocked.

-------WARNING!-------

NOTE: Follow the recommendations below to properly perform the towing procedure.

Follow the towing instruction in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. When the instructions indicate to "manually release the parking brake," perform the following steps.

1. Loosen the setscrew and turn the knob on needle valve (A) fully clockwise to close the valve.

2. Move plunger (B) in and out until it is no longer possible to move the plunger by hand.

3. To re-apply the parking brake, turn the knob on needle valve (A) fully counterclockwise to open the valve.

4. Tighten the setscrew.
