Rework Procedure
1. Remove the axle assembly from the machine.
2. Remove the axle shafts.
3. Remove the axle trumpet housings from the axle assembly.
4. Remove the bearing races from the housings.
NOTE: The mating 9R2423 Carrier Assembly for the axle shaft that failed should be disassembled and the gear teeth of the three 9R2422 Gears magnafluxed and inspected for cracks. If cracks are found on any one of the three gears, then all three gears should be replaced.

NOTE: Update axle ring gear bolts by following the information shown in Illustration 2.
7. Install the assembled axle in the machine frame and tighten the axle retainer bolts as shown in Illustration 3. The inch bolts need to be tightened to a torque of 408 N·m (300 lb ft) and the inch bolts need to be tightened to a torque of 238 N·m (175 lb ft).
8. After axle is assembled, refer to Service Manual, KENR1583-01, for checking the operation of the No-Spin Differential.
