NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8303" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The screen section of the 9J1016 Screen Assembly has separated from the cap and/or the flange under heat and flow. Earlier screens were bonded to the cap and flange with either epoxy or solder. The new 1188693 Screen is brazed to these end pieces. When the previous screen components separated, it's parts and the filter by-pass parts fell into the steering tank contaminating the hydraulic system.

Action Required
When the oil in the steering hydraulic tank is drained during a normal preventative maintenance, work through the filter opening in the tank to remove the 9J1016 Screen Assembly and replace it with the new 1188693 Screen Assembly.
