Usage:
3600 Family Of Engines
Additional service tools are available for servicing the oil and fuel filters. They will also allow a running engine to be serviced if equipped with the duplex system. The 8T2850 Tool Group is changed to include the 1U9824 Tool Group for the oil filter and 4C6173 Fuel Filter Tray Assembly.
NOTE: Always follow the instructions in the Operation And Maintenance Manual for correct procedures and warnings for changing filters while the engine is running. These service tools should be installed for filter servicing and removed afterwards.
Owners of earlier 8T2850 Tool Groups will need to order the 1U9824 Tool Group and 4C6173 Fuel Filter Tray Assembly to aid engine oil and fuel filter servicing. The 1U9824 Tool Group consists of the following components:
- 1U9823 Filter Scoop Assembly - is used to remove the dirty oil and fuel filters.
- 1U9821 Lower Tray Assembly (3) - is used to drain the lower oil filter housing and collect the oil from the upper oil filter housing. The tray includes a tube connection for a customer-supplied drain hose (with a 25.4 mm (1.00") inside diameter).
- 1U9822 Upper Tray Assembly (2) - is used to drain the upper oil filter housing into the 1U9821 Lower Tray Assembly.
- 1U9821 Lower Tray Assembly (3) - is used to drain the lower oil filter housing and collect the oil from the upper oil filter housing. The tray includes a tube connection for a customer-supplied drain hose (with a 25.4 mm (1.00") inside diameter).
The 4C6173 Fuel Filter Tray Assembly (1) is mounted to the lower 7E2353 Fuel Filter Housing and includes a tube connection for a customer-supplied drain hose (with a 25.4 mm (1.00") inside diameter). To drain the upper filter, install a short section of hose on the drain valve of the filter to minimize fuel splashing into the 4C6173 Fuel Filter Tray Assembly.
