Description of Change: The cylinder head stud protector and washer are improved. The cylinder head stud protector can trap moisture. This leads to rust on nut, washer and protector. The improved stud protector material is zinc plated steel. The improved washer is zinc plated. The improved components will eliminate the rust problem.
Adaptable To: The part numbers of the improved stud protector and washer have not changed. The improved 9Y0045 Zinc Plated Steel Stud Protector and the 1W2362 Washer are effective with 3606 (8RB359), 3608 (6MC289), 3612 (9RC66), 3616 (1PD39) Engines. The improved stud protectors and washer are adaptable to earlier engines.
