Usage:
3600 Family Of Engines
The flange bolted exhaust manifolds used in 3600 Engines should NOT be removed from the engine as a single unit. Excessive bending and loads induced in the bellows when lifting the manifold group as one piece can create stress in the bellows. These stresses could lead to an early bellows failure. When it is necessary to remove the complete manifold, disassemble the manifolds at each cylinder and remove the individual sections.
Use the following procedure to install the manifold groups.
1. Assemble manifolds to head and turbocharger; hand tighten the bolts.
2. Install brackets to pipes and manifolds.
3. Tighten bellows nuts and bolts to specifications.
4. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specifications.
5. Do NOT preassemble exhaust system before installation on engine.
