Usage:
3606, 3608, 3612, 3616 Engines
Description of Change: New bearings and an identification are used in the engine oil pump group. The new bearings do not have an internal groove where pitting and surface wear occurred on the former bearings. The identification will make parts storage and verification easier since all oil pumps for 3600 Engines have a common external body. The basic pump group part number will be stamped on the body of the pump.
Adaptable To: The part numbers for the improved cover assembly and the body assemblies have not changed. The new 7E7066 Sleeve Bearing (1) is a direct replacement for the former 4W3997 Sleeve Bearing. The new 7E7067 Sleeve Bearing (2) is a direct replacement for the former 4W3996 Sleeve Bearing. The identification is not adaptable to earlier pumps. The new bearings are adaptable to earlier pumps.
