  1. Install the oil pan gasket.

    Note: Apply Tooling (D) to the puzzle joints and the T joints on the gasket. Apply between the cylinder block face, the front housing, and the rear housing.

  2. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto engine oil pan (6). T The weight of engine oil pan (6) on a C175-16 engine is approximately 591 kg (1303 lb). The weight of engine oil pan (6) on a C175-20 engine is approximately 696 kg (1534 lb). Position engine oil pan (6) in the desired location.

  3. Attach Tooling (C) onto the engine. The weight of the C175-16 engine is approximately 12750 kg (28110 lb). The weight of the C175-20 engine is approximately 14000 kg (30865 lb). Remove the engine from Tooling (A).

  4. Lower the engine onto engine oil pan (6).

  5. Tighten bolts (4) and bolts (5).

  6. Install elbow (2), bolts (3), and bolts (1).

    Note: Position tube evenly between the end mounting flanges. Hand tighten the mounting bolts at each end of the tube. Torque all hardware starting at one end of the tube and then proceed to torque the opposite end of the tube.

  7. Fill the engine with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".

  8. Turn the fuel supply valve to the ON position.

  9. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
