Start By:
- Remove the water pump.

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Remove plug (1) and plug (2) from bearing housing (3). Remove plug (6) from housing (5). Remove the O-ring seals from the plugs.
- Remove water pump filter (4) from bearing housing (3).

Illustration 2 g01035264 - Remove bolts (7) and washers. Remove bearing housing (3) from housing (5). Remove O-ring seal (8) from bearing housing (3).

Illustration 3 g01035285 - Install Tooling (B) under impeller (9). Use a suitable press and Tooling (A) to remove the impeller.
Note: Do not allow bearing housing (3) to fall to the floor when the impeller is removed from the pump shaft.

Illustration 5 g06095400 - Install pump shaft (12) in Tooling (C). Loosen set screws (14). Use Tooling (D) to remove bearing locknut (15) from the pump shaft.
Note: The splined end of the pump shaft is marked to indicate either RH threads or LH threads on the pump shaft.
