Vibration Damper - Remove and Install

  1. Remove bolts (1) and guard assembly (2).

  2. Remove two bolts (3).

  3. Install Tooling (A). Remove remaining bolts (3).

  4. Slide vibration damper (4) on Tooling (A).

  5. Attach a suitable lifting device onto vibration damper (4). The weight of vibration damper (4) is approximately 195 kg (430 lb). Slide vibration damper (4) to the end of Tooling (A). Remove vibration damper (4).

  6. Remove bolts (5). Separate flanges (6) and (7) from spacer (9). Remove adapter (7).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install vibration damper (4) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (C) to bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 76 ± 5 N·m (56 ± 3 lb ft).

    2. Apply Tooling (D) to threads and under the head of bolts (3). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 700 ± 50 N·m (516 ± 37 b ft). Follow the torque tightening sequence. The four counterbored should be tightened first. Then retighten the four counterbored to a torque of 700 ± 50 N·m (516 ± 37 b ft).
