Start By:

  1. Remove the clean gas induction cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Gas Induction Cooler - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove engine oil filter (7) .

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (1) .

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (2) .

  1. Remove bolt (3) .

  1. Disconnect tube assembly (4) .

  1. Remove bolts (5) in order to remove engine oil filter base (6) .

  1. Remove the O-ring seals from the engine oil filter base.
