Removal Procedure

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
- Remove clip (1). Disconnect harness assembly (2) .

- Remove bolts (3). Remove housing manifold (4) .
- Remove water temperature regulators (5) .

- Remove O-ring seals (6) .
- Disconnect hose (7). Remove bolts (8). Remove temperature regulator housing (9) .

Installation Procedure

- Install temperature regulator housing (9). Install bolts (8). Connect hose (7) .

- Install O-ring seals (6) .

- Install housing manifold (4). Install bolts (3) .

- Connect harness assembly (2). Install clip (1) .
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
