Water Pump - Remove

Usage:

C15 B5R

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the water temperature regulator housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Temperature Regulator Housing - Remove".
  2. Remove the clean clean gas induction cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Gas Induction Cooler - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove elbow (1). Remove bracket (2) .

  1. Disconnect hose (3). Disconnect tube assembly (5). Remove nut (6) and the stud. Disconnect tube assembly (7). Remove bolts (4). Remove elbow (8) .

  1. Disconnect hose (9). Remove bolts (10). Remove elbow (11) .

  1. Loosen bolts (12) by approximately 25 mm (1 inch) in order to separate water pump (13) from front housing (14) .

  1. Remove water pump (13) .

  1. Remove O-ring seal (15) from water pump (13) .
