PROBLEM

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to M0090627, Disassembly and Assembly, 814K Wheel Dozer Machine Systems, "Main Control Valve - Disassemble" and "Main Control Valve - Assemble". Refer to M0068544, Disassembly and Assembly, 815K, 816K Soil Compactor Machine Systems, "Main Control Valve - Disassemble" and "Main Control Valve - Assemble". Refer to the table in Image1 for the main control valve part numbers. Refer to Image2 for an example of a typical main control valve cross-section. If the existing centering spring fails, replace the failed spring with a new 529-7729 Spool Spring. 1. Access the main control valve and clean the area. Do NOT remove the main control valve from the machine. 2. Remove the cap from the main control valve. 3. Remove the directional stem from the main control valve. NOTE: Use a clean, lint-free, towel to handle the directional stem assembly. Do NOT damage the directional stem running surfaces. 4. Disassemble the directional stem. Replace the broken spring with a new 529-7729 Spool Spring. 5. Assemble the directional stem assembly. Tighten to 8 +/- 0.5 N.m (5.9 +/- 0.4 lb. ft). 6. Clean the directional stem assembly as needed and install in the main control valve. 7. Install the end cap on the main control valve. Tighten the bolts to a specified torque of to 8 +/- 0.5 N.m (5.9 +/- 0.4 lb. ft). NOTE: Ensure proper orientation and alignment of the directional stem assembly and end cap. Refer to Image2. |
