NOTE: | This Containment Program can be administered either before or after a failure occurs. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer and service rep. Obtain the service reps Goodwill Approver Code before completing the repair. EAME dealers should use their standard Industry Group specific goodwill approval codes. The Goodwill Approver Code must be included when submitting the claim. |

If administered before failure, use "56" as Warranty Claim Description and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. PROBLEM
The barrels of the existing lift cylinder may develop a crack at the cylinder tube to eye joint weld on certain 950GC Medium Wheel Loaders. If the weld cracks, hydraulic oil may leak from the crack. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the lift barrel with the improved barrel and seal-kit. Refer to UENR3334, Disassembly and Assembly, "Lift Cylinder - Remove and Install", to remove and install the lift cylinder. Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary. Note: Before assembly of cylinder, refer to the instruction below to inspect the status of setscrew on the piston. Instruction for Setscrew Inspection: 1. Check whether the setscrew is loose or not, if loose, add Loctite 242, then tighten to a specified torque of 25 +/- 3 N.m. 2. Check the punched dimples around the hole for the setscrew. If the dimples don't make a deformation of thread of the hole, punch these dimples until the thread is deformed, which will prevents the setscrew from falling off after becoming loose. |
