ACTION REQUIRED
If this machine has been impacted, the transmission will need to be removed for repair. Please use Media Number - M0082559-01 "966M XE and 972M XE Wheel Loader Powertrain, Disassembly and Assembly" as a reference. Refer to sections Transmission - Remove and Install to get the transmission available for repair. Refer to Transmission - Disassemble to gain access to the damaged parts. Please complete steps 1-96 to obtain access to the damaged components. Notes: A) The harness only needs to be removed far enough to allow the removal of the 364-9724 housing (hitch side). Omit steps 5, 13. B) The valve manifold on the 364-9722 housing does not need to be removed. Omit step 13. C) No need to disassemble Aux synchronizer assembly in steps 50- 56 unless there is visual damage. D) No need to remove and disassemble planetary shaft in steps 57-63. When removing the clutch shafts, only remove the aux gear, not the entire shaft assembly. E) While the clutch shafts are out, it is a good idea to check the components, including the synchronizer teeth. Clean the debris from the housing and passages. Remove and replace all valves. Check other components for resultant damage. Repair all necessary components and reassemble in reverse order. You can reference the Transmission - Assemble if necessary. On the machine, replace both transmission filters and drain external lines to remove contaminated oil. |
