Clean Emissions Module - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.


------ WARNING! ------

Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.


  1. Disconnect all electrical and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) connections to the clean emissions module.

  2. Remove bolts (2) and DEF injector (1).

  3. Attach eyebolts (3) and a suitable lifting device to the clean emissions module. The weight of the module is approximately 975 kg (2150 lb).

    Note: Eyebolts (3) are shipped with the clean emissions module and removed during installation.

  4. Remove exhaust insulation (4) and (5).

  5. Remove clamps (8) and mounting groups (7).

  6. Remove clean emissions module (6).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install clean emissions module (6) in the reverse order of removal.

    Note: Eyebolts (3) must be removed after the installation of the clean emissions module.
